An RPD (Removable Partial Denture) replaces missing teeth and is a removable oral appliance.
Missing Teeth
Missing back teeth (or other teeth) can lead to difficulty eating, poor esthetics, or malocclusion of upper teeth (teeth are constantly growing out until they run into something, in this case the RPD).
RPD Supported by Existing Structures
The removable partial denture rests on existing teeth, tissue, or both.
RPD in Place
Once in place, the RPD provides esthetic advantage as well as function to eat. **Note, metal clasps are necessary and will be visible as can be seen slightly on the patients tooth.
